India vs Australia: India’s Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and last match’s hero Hanuma Vihari ruled out of 4th Test against Australia.
In a massive blow to the Indian cricket team on their ongoing tour of Australia, Team India’s lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the fourth and final Test following an abdominal strain. Bumrah was seen clutching his abdomen repeatedly on the third day of the Sydney Test.
A day after Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the tour on Monday, and it emerged that Hanuma Vihari (right hamstring injury) and R Ashwin (back tweak) batted through pain to save the Sydney Test, there is an injury cloud over Jasprit Bumrah ahead of the fourth and final Test starting January 15.
Jadeja also shared a picture from the hospital bed with his hand wrapped in strappings and tied to his neck. “Out of action for a while surgery completed. But will soon return with a bang!” Jadeja captioned the picture on Twitter.
“Jasprit Bumrah suffered an abdominal strain while fielding in Sydney. He is going to sit out of the Brisbane Test but is expected to be available against England,” a BCCI source told PTI.
Jasprit Bumrah has had the most promising and core among fast bowlers among both sides, bowling 117.4 overs across the six innings so far in the Tests. He can also bat extraordinary in crucial situations. Bumrah, who was rested for the T20I leg of the tour to play India’s warm-up fixture in Sydney, has so far featured in each of the three ODIs and the three Tests.
