Team India’s T20I, ODI and Test squads for Tour of Australia announced. Rohit Sharma not in any of the three due to fitness and Ishant’s fitness will be monitored.

The BCCI’s Senior National Selection Committee on Monday announced the Indian squads for the Australia tour, comprising fours Tests, three One-day Internationals and as many Twenty20 Internationals. Varun Chakravarthy Opens up on Maiden India Call-up, Says ‘it All Looks Like Some Destiny’.

Speaking to BCCI after receiving the call-up for Team India, Chakravarthy said, “I did not know before, I got to know after the match was over. It is surreal. My basic goal initially was to play in the team regularly and perform and contribute to the wins. Hopefully, I was able to do well till now and hopefully, I’ll be able to perform for the Indian team.”

Also, no Rishabh Pant in ODI or T20I squads. Rohit Sharma has not been named in any of the three squads with BCCI to monitor his progress and Ishant’s fitness will be monitored.  KL Rahul, who is having a dream run in the current IPL, has replaced Rohit in the longest format.

What made the entire situation perplexing was Mumbai Indians posting two tweets, which showed Rohit Sharma batting in the nets.

Punjab skipper KL Rahul has been named Vice-captain of the side for the limited-overs series. Other notable inclusions in the T20 team include Sanju Samson, Manish Pandey, Washington Sundar, and Deepak Chahar.
