In September, The IPL 2021 Second Edition Will Begin In The United Arab Emirates

During a Special Board Meeting, the Board of Control for Cricket in India publicly announced that the unfinished half of the Indian Premier League 2021 will be played in the United Arab Emirates.

The BCCI and the Emirates Cricket Board have already reached an informal agreement. In light of the adverse weather in India in September-October, when it plans to hold the remaining 31 IPL games, the formal decision was made on Saturday (May 29) to move the remainder of IPL 2021 to the UAE.

“We’ll discuss the availability of their players with all of the boards.”  After attending the BCCI SGM today afternoon, one of the senior BCCI executives stated, “We will also speak to Cricket West Indies; we have always had a great connection with everyone and we are hopeful that some solution will come out in the next few days.”

The most significant barrier to hosting the tournament would be the lack of foreign players, and the BCCI has determined that franchises would be required to replace their line-ups with replacements from both India and abroad. The England and Wales Cricket Board has already indicated that its players would not be released for the unfinished IPL, while Cricket Australia is yet to make a statement on the issue. At some point, a meeting with the IPL franchises will take place.
